I’ve always wanted to like the CFL more than I actually do. The last game I attended was roughly ten years ago in Calgary. It was the annual Labour Day game between the Stampeders and the Eskimos. A friend of mine had relatives visiting from the UK and asked me if I wanted to come along with the three of them. I eagerly agreed and we made our way to McMahon Stadium on a beautiful late summer/early autumn afternoon.

In the middle of a scandal, Justin Trudeau prorogued parliament. The move effectively shuts down parliamentary committees and all parliamentary business, much of which was focused on the Liberal Party's cozy relationship with the WE charity. How convenient. Rather than exercise her authority to refuse Justin's request, Julie Payette did what he asked. This leaves the door wide open for questions about Canada's constitutional monarchy and whether it serves any legitimate purpose in the 21st Century.

Poletical first talked to Erin O’Toole back during the last leadership race. He’s a personable guy with lots of (possibly too many) good ideas. As the face of the party, Erin checks off all the boxes. He’s got: private sector experience, a military background, lots of caucus support, an Ontario base, he speaks French and he provides Scheer-style “Harper with a smile” packaging minus the now deal-breaking social conservatism (which is just code for: he’s cool with gays and abortion).

My friends in Oakville North-Burlington, Pam Damoff must be voted out of office in the next federal election. How could you, in your right minds, allow this woman to retain office following her most recent display of unadulterated hypocrisy and arrogance? In the very midst of her own leader's corruption scandal (just one of many now), she had the audacity to demand the removal of Derek Sloan from the Conservative caucus. Why? All because Mr. Sloan's opinions differ from her own party's ideological aims. All because she is a truly pitiful and petty person.

Politicians and intelligent citizens are being shamed for not wearing masks and for downplaying the severity of COVID-19. Some jurisdictions have made mask-wearing mandatory and punishable by law. Real science is being thrown aside for what is starting to look more and more like a political agenda. Every time we ask a question, or express doubt, we are attacked. Debates about masks or the virus are rarely met with civil debate. Instead, detractors are shouted down and met with demands to shut up and comply.
