It Wasn't The PPC, It Was Erin O'Toole

September 21st, 2021 | RR

Just like the Liberal Party, the Conservative Party is filled with elitists who think they know everything. Unlike Liberals, however, they don't know a damn thing. The Liberal Party knows how to win elections, Conservatives don't. Winning one single majority in 2011 isn't winning, nor is it the result of anything resembling a coherent strategy.

Giving O'Toole The Benefit Of The Doubt

September 12th, 2021 | JH

A lot of conservatives are angry with Erin O’Toole. At a glance, it looks like he’s a Liberal disguised as a Conservative with a plan to cuck the party into victory. Many of us seethe at this situation and are loudly switching our votes to Maxime Bernier’s PPC or the Maverick Party. But consider a few things before being too rash…

Crisis: Pregnant Women Are In Trouble

September 10th, 2021 | FT

There is a silent crisis looming in this country. On September 25, pregnant women who have been unemployed through the pandemic will be required to have reached 600 working hours to qualify for maternity benefits in Canada. Last year, the Trudeau government applied a 480 hour credit for everyone, making it easier for expecting mothers and unemployed Canadians to receive benefits.

Six Scenarios Could Unfold On Election Day

September 1st, 2021 | RR

Had it not been for Ontario, Conservatives would have won a majority under Andrew Scheer in 2019. It was a close race and the Conservatives won the popular vote, but Trudeau held enough seats to form a minority. As polls currently indicate, this race is shaping up in the very same way.

Beware A Low Voter Turnout

September 9th, 2021 | RR

Unless most Canadians feel comfortable voting in person on election day, things are not looking good for turnout. According to recent polls, most Canadians still fear the virus and don't feel comfortable voting. However, the number of mail-in ballots requested and received is far below expectations. Elections Canada expected anywhere from one to five million, but fewer than 600,000 have been requested so far.

Momentum: The PPC Earthquake

September 8th, 2021 | JH

I was on Facebook recently and non-political people are starting to post election material. This is common in the run up to an election. Normally my Facebook feed is pretty political, but at the “two-week to election day” mark, even the people posting cat photos and cookie recipes and inspirational “believe in yourself” crap will begin to tip-toe into the political cesspool.

Orrin Bliss Talks Freedom And Vote Splitting

September 8th, 2021 | JH

The Maverick Party is growing like a prairie wildfire across the West this election. Conservative Party supporters are waking up to the reality that all federal parties are beholden to selling out the West in order to secure the East, which holds the bulk of Canada’s votes. Liberal or Tory, it’s the same old story… Canada takes and the West gives.

Don't Attack The Conservative Party

September 1st, 2021 | NZ

Among many conservatives there is a temptation to go to war with the Conservative Party of Canada. Support for the party has dropped significantly. Erin O’Toole is attempting to neuter the party in order to appeal to soft Liberal supporters in hopes of expanding the pool of potential CPC voters. This is a strategy that has been advocated by progressives with no intention of ever voting Conservative.

O'Toole Is Proving Himself, But Trust Is An Issue

September 1st, 2021 | RR

Erin O'Toole slimed his way into the Conservative leadership by lying to the base and promising to be the true blue alternative to Peter Mackay. What he did after winning was anything but true blue. He created a carbon tax policy, which he denied was a carbon tax, and his party is now pushing for safe injection sites and the legalization of drugs used in the gay community to enhance sex.

Should Western Canadians Vote PPC Or Maverick?

September 1st, 2021 | MN

If you live in Western Canada and you’ve lost faith in the Conservative Party of Canada, then you are likely trying to decide whether or not to vote for the Maverick Party or Maxime Bernier’s People’s Party of Canada. There are a couple of other possibilities like the Christian Heritage Party or the Libertarian Party, but these vehicles have been around for a long, long time and have proven themselves to be ineffective at electoral politics.

Why Conservatives Should Be Proud

September 1st, 2021 | RR

I've been pondering whether to stop referring to myself as a conservative. I used to be “libertarian”, but that started to fizzle out as I saw the the failures and abuses of businesses, billionaires and monopolies inside our so-called free market. On top of that, the growing lunacy and straight up idiocy of those inside the libertarian movement turned me away.

Does The CPC Really Want To Win?

September 1st, 2021 | CW

There’s an assumption amongst Conservative supporters that the party wants to win elections, but is this true? When you talk to long-term players in politics there is a cynicism to them and their experience that is uniform. They are professionals and they’ve been around the block. They’ve worked campaigns and they’ve supported candidates and they know how the game works.

Had Maxime Bernier Stayed

September 1st, 2021 | RR

I have often called Maxime Bernier a grifter and a charlatan, while other Poletical contributors have supported him. At the end of the day, Bernier represents legitimate conservatives and has legitimate conservative followers—regardless of what his own personal views and motives are. What he has been preaching has resonated. However, Bernier's political instincts are piss poor and he allowed his own personal animosity to get the best of him.

From August:
Biden And Harris Were Anti-Vaxxers In 2020

August 1st, 2021 | TC

Much has been made about vaccine hesitancy in the United States over the past few months as vaccination rates begin to plateau, just short of 70%, or the amount required to achieve herd immunity. Those who express any hesitation about a vaccine are immediately shamed as "anti-vaxxers".

Billionaire Astronauts: Symbols Of Our Regression

August 1st, 2021 | RR

In 1969, humans landed the first man on the moon. In 2021, a billionaire shot himself into Earth's lower orbit for eleven minutes in a dildo shaped rocket. Note the difference. Humans haven't successfully sent a human to another rock or planet in more than sixty years, but we're willing to let a bunch of billionaires proclaim that Blue Origin and Virgin Galactic have accomplished something historic.
